Ladyhawke: BeatCrave Fav
By Seraphina L.
I love the fact that more and more female musicians are taking over the charts and concert venues! My current happiness in regards to the music industry’s female power would be none other than the lovely Ladyhawke from New Zealand. She looks like a lovely blonde in this photo, but she’s also bad-ass when it comes to recording all the instruments herself on her debut album. She also fronts a full band on tour.
The fact that my love for electro-pop will never die is not a secret. So when it’s electro-pop plus rock, it’s heaven… the kind of heaven where all the angels rock out with synths and guitars. Ladyhawke was formerly in the bands, Two Lane Blacktop and Teenger, and has performed with great acts such as Peaches, Lightspeed Champion, and more. Check her out in our BeatCrave Fav series below! If you think she’s rad as I think she is, make sure to vote for her in Friday’s poll!

i love Pip. her music is awesome and she's a great person, however, her live shows are not anything great, sadly. perhaps it's her asperger's that gets in the way of her connecting to the audience, who knows, i just know that when i saw her play at the troubadour it was one of the most painful experiences ive ever had at a show having to witness my adored Pip Brown, perform a really detached and almost horrible show. what a pity.

Ladyhawke is so great! Her album is one of those albums that I find myself wanting to listen to all the time whether I'm working out, driving, going out, or just laying around, every song on the album puts me in a good mood and makes me want to dance! I'm super stoked about the release of her special edition album featuring acoustic versions of some of her already popular songs as well as a few bonus tracks. I believe Ladyhawke is on the brink of big fame in the US, and I can't to see how far she goes!

I would have to agree with you. I love Ladyhawke and it was my first concert I have ever been to , and i was expecting it to be amazing! And, sadly it wasn't. There were 4 bands total: Slimy, Natalie Portmans shaved head, semi precious weapons, and ladyhawke. Slimy wasn't too bad, Natalie Portmas shaved head was good except the lead singer, he was fat, and all over the place and was just plain gross, and then there was SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS, i freaking loved them! I had never heard of them until this show and it was amazing!! then, Ladyhawke, she wasn't really bad, just lacked stage presence, we all loved her but she seemed really shy, and was drinking her beer like it was an awesome show lol.
