raveonettes The Raveonettes Post Demos Online

A high-five from BeatCrave to The Raveonettes for understanding what a little social media initiative can do to get fans more involved in the process of producing a new album. The Danish twosome is giving their fans access to early demos online from their forthcoming album, an opportunity to hear feedback from fans throughout the making of the album.

The duo made an announcement via Twitter this week that they were releasing their first demo with the working title ‘Last Dance.’

They posted another demo with the title ‘Boys Who Rape’. The band told fans:

“…can’t wait to hear what you think” and added, “these are DEMOS and still in the making.”

And because this sort of social media interaction is super fluid, the band announced a third demo earlier today (Friday) on Twitter. The working title is “In & Out Of Control.”

No doubt the band’s move to solicit input has stirred the fan base, but a Twitter post was also sent out to just make sure everyone knows how this ‘you listen, you give feedback’ endeavor is going to go down:

Let’s clarify since media seem confused.: We DON’T need help writing songs. We’re sharing demos, love comments . So enjoy our process.

There you have it. They’d love your feedback on the new demos, but Burt Bacharach hopefuls need not apply.

The Raveonettes upcoming, fourth LP (from Vice Records) is still without a title, but due to hit stores this Fall. It will be the follow-up to 2008′s Lust Lust Lust.
