Moby wait for me cover

Those cool cats at NPR are kindly offering up an exclusive full album stream of Moby’s 9th album, Wait For Me, as part of their Exclusive First Listen series. Wait For Me will be available for listening from June 15 to the 30th. And on June 30th is when Mute Records will officially release the new Moby album.

Listen to the album stream here.

Twitter users can post their thoughts of Moby’s new tunes with @thelittleidiot and ending with #waitforme.

NPR’s Bob Boilen is definitely a fan of the new music:

Moby has just made his best record in 10 years — at least I think so. The new record by the DJ, singer, bassist, keyboardist, guitarist and all-around renaissance man, Wait for Me, is filled with beauty, sadness and celebration.

Speaking to the Edmonton Sun about the super stardom that followed the release of Play ten years ago, Moby remarked -

I clearly wasn’t prepared for it. I became a global celebrity, but at the same time I was still the nerd who makes music in his apartment,” he explained. “I liked it, but it depressed me at the same time. I became too public; I was hated by people who didn’t even know me.”

Today he’s sober, vegan and spiritual. And out with a new album that’s not too shabby.

Did you listen yet? Thoughts on the new Moby album?
