White Stripes Canada Tour Film to be Released
By Laura AguirreIn 2007, The White Stripes toured Canada playing in bizarre cinematic-looking venues across the Great White North. Why the band decided to take this lengthy trip is still a mystery, but the band is set to release a new documentary that re-visits their Canadian adventure.
During the tour, the band took a camera crew along that filmed them playing in unusual places like fishing boats, buses, parks and warehouses. Jack White mentioned that he didn’t know what he was doing by dragging a camera crew around, but he decided to film everything, or at least that is what he told his camera crew.
“Film everything, see what happens. I don’t think we would wanna film ourselves like this. I’m pretty anti-reality television and all that ridiculous peeking behind the curtain sort of aspect of entertainment these days.”
Even though Jack White has many projects underway (the release of The Dead Weather‘s new album Horehound on July 13th) he plans to take some time to finish the new film.
As for White Stripes fans, nothing has been released since the bands’ 2007 album Icky Thump, with Jack White’s side projects such as the The Raconteurs and The Dead Whether, there is no telling when the Detroit duo will release a new album.
