- My Morning Jacket – Evil Urges | $9.99
- The National - Boxer| $9.98
- LCD Soundsystem – Sound of Silver | $9.97
- The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico| $7.97
The Velvet Underground & Nico is a great album filled with brassy tambourines and melancholic voices, not to mention some amazing electric guitar. I have it in my car, it lives there. The Fleet Foxes self-titled album is also great, and it’s also their first so start listening to them now and get to know them, they are pretty darn good.
$10-$15
- The Decemberists – The Hazards of Love | $13.49
- Peter Bjorn and John – Living Things | $13.99
- The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – The Pains of Being Pure at Heart | $13.99
- Jenny Lewis – Acid Tongue | $12.99
Jenny Lewis one of the most beautiful voices ever and her lyrics are great; get Acid Tongue, and all of the Rilo Kiley albums too. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart hasn’t been in the music business for a long time but their rock n’ roll sounds are pretty great for a beginning band; they remind me of The Smiths.
MP3 Albums
Under $10
- Robotanists – Close Down The Woods | $6.93
- My Bloody Valentine – Loveless | $6.97
- St. Vincent (Annie Clark) – Marry Me | $7.99
- Incubus – Light Grenades | $7.99
- White Lies – To Lose My Life | $7.99
Recently I saw the Robotanists at the Echo Curio and they were amazing. If you want to listen to some great new music, Close Down The Woods is a great choice. The White Lies is another great band; Harry McVeigh’s voice is like a mixture between Robert Smith (The Cure) and Justin Warfield (She Wants Revenge).
