A Rooster for the Masses: BeatCrave Fav
By Lindsey Darden
When it comes to A Rooster for the Masses , I have to at least express the intriguing choice of name – open very much for interpretation – and the fact that each band member is named Hank. I wish there was an answer for my wonderment, but I will settle for not being able to easily forget these fellas. AR4TM – an acronym for the band – is one of those bands who sound as good live in studio as they do onstage, which is such an asset to the actual music enthusiast. It’s one thing to sound good, but it’s quite another to be able to sound good sans the help of heavy production.
The Raleigh, N.C.-based band holds the ability to incorporate core elements of different genres that work with their overall alt-rock style – ska and reggae in one song, disco and psychedelics in another. And if we’re going to go for comparisons here, they can be likened to the Foo Fighters and perhaps the Kings of Leon in another – laid-back and welcoming for listeners, yet still commanding of attention. Since their formation in 2004 they have released two albums, and I must say I’m shocked that at present we can only confirm one future upcoming show. We hope that you, the listener, will force the band to secure more venues by voting for them in Friday’s poll. More shows, AR4tM. More is good! Check them out in our BeatCrave Fav series below!
