Stone Roses To Re-Issue Classic Singles
By Jeffrey Hyatt
Now this is my kind of musical celebration. To mark the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, The Stone Roses will release five, classic singles prior to the re-release of the album on August 10.
The records will be released one every week, beginning on July 6. Each single will be issued on seven-inch vinyl and download formats, starting with their 1988 song ‘Elephant Stone’.
An untitled, previously unreleased recording will join each single release by the legendary Manchester band.
A ‘collectors edition’ will come with various extras including CDs, DVDs, vinyls and artwork, while the ‘legacy edition’ will come with a bonus DVD of the band’s legendary Blackpool gig, along with a ‘Lost Demos’ CD.
According to NME, earlier this year it was rumored that The Stone Roses might reform, but guitarist John Squire has since said there is no chance he will play with the band again.
So for now let’s just get ready to re-enjoy the re-issue of a really great album.
The Stone Roses / re-issue singles:
- July 6th – Elephant Stone
- July 13th – Made Of Stone
- July 20th – She Bangs The Drums
- July 27th – Fools Good
- August 3rd – One Love
