Poll: Panic at the Disco Breaking Up: Does Anyone Care?
By Laura AguirreThey have been around for for less than decade, but Panic at the Disco was all the rage a couple of years ago, making teenage boys everywhere know that it was okay to wear eyeliner. But now, after much success in the pop charts and even an award nomination on their 2005 debut album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, two of the band members have decided to call it quits.
Find out more about their break up below…
The band posted a short message on their website that both Ryan Ross (lead guitar) and Jon Walker (bass) would be leaving Panic at the Disco “to embark on a musical excursion of their own.” However, what is left of the group– Brendon Urie (vocals) and Spencer Smith (drums)– still plans to keep the show rolling, stating that “we wouldn’t miss [our tour dates with Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy] for the world.”
The message doesn’t really answer any questions, but it seems that Panic at the Disco will be a two-man show as of right now.
Although I wasn’t a big fan of the band during the band’s highest peek, I do admit that their latest album Pretty.Odd. was refreshing and a big leap from their first album. It will be interesting to see who the new bassist and lead guitarist will be, and if even more music changes are yet to be revealed.

You guys are so bleckk; if you didn't like them then why even search this up and read it?
Panic at the Disco was an awesome band because they were unique in their own creative way, unlike other bands. For example, alot of their songs had messages in them that were true and weren't always about love. So sheddup > . >

i guess ryan was finally done with trying and failing to get in Brendon's pants behind closed doors.

No they were not their own ideas….at least in their videos. They ripped all that shit off of the Beatles! A good band to follow…but not when you rip off them that much. It's tooo much.

Excuse me! Ryan wrote half the songs! He was the creative mind of the group. Lead gutarist and back-up vocalists. As well his own song, Below the Sea, was a hit. So don't be saying he is no big part of the band. He is, and was.

Uhm, BEHIND the sea.
Sorry, my obsessive Panic! fan ness is coming out. Typos like that piss me off.
Otherwise i totally agree with you!

Ryan essentially started the band, back when they were "pet salamander", then "the summer league", and then they turned into "panic! at the disco". Brenden is a complete asshole and they've had issues in the past, he's self-centered and doesn't allow Ryan much creative room, I don't blame him for leaving at all, i'm surprised he made it this far with him, I would have left back when Brent left the band, they were always the only two smart ones.
