Trent Reznor Confirms More Nine Inch Nails Shows

In February, Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor announced on the Nine Inch Nails official site that after a tour with Jane’s Addiction across the globe during 2009, the band would then go on hiatus indefinitely. He also said at Bonnaroo, during the NIN set, that it would be the band’s “last show ever in the United States”

Now Trent is backpedaling. On Tuesday he posted on the NIN Blog that the band will play a final “handful of shows” in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles beginning August 22. From the post:

“Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight – it just didn’t feel right to end NIN that way.”

While specific dates are yet to be announced, Trent mentions in the post that NIN will play at the Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5 in New York, the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, and at The Wiltern, The Henry Fonda, The Palladium and The Echoplex in Los Angeles. Nine Inch Nails will also be the main act at Toronto’s Virgin Festival.

“So far, The Horrors will be joining us for some shows in NYC, Mew will be with us at other shows in NYC, Chicago and LA, and perhaps more. (…) If we can get it together we’ll film these shows, too.”

NIN fans can certainly rejoice, but is the planned hiatus just a marketing ploy? Are you relieved that Nine Inch Nails isn’t quitting?
