Poll: What Do You Think of Thom Yorke’s Interest in New Moon’s Soundtrack?
By Seraphina L.
With the success of the first soundtrack to the Twilight Saga, there is much speculation of who will be contributing to the second soundtrack for next film, New Moon. Will the heart throb, Robert Pattinson, be doing a couple of songs again? Will Stephanie Meyer’s favorite band, Muse, be on the next one as well?
According to famous film critic site, Rotten Tomatoes, New Moon‘s own director, Chris Weitz, has gotten a few offers from Thom Yorke. Some may be wonder why Yorke would ever stoop to such a teeny bopper opportunity, but some aren’t as shocked since Radiohead had already given Twilight’s first director, Catherine Hardwicke, permission to use “15 Step” as the song for closing credits. Weitz is also hoping to get Kings of Leon in on the new film.
What do you think of Thom Yorke’s enthusiasm in regards to New Moon‘s soundtrack? Is he a sell out? Is the Twilight saga lucky to have him? Is this a good idea? Vote below to let us know, then check out everything director, Chris Weitz, had to say about it!
“Fortunately, I’m not at the stage where I have to turn anybody down yet, because everything is still kind of up in the air,” Weitz shared, “but I am surprised at some of the bands that have said they’re interested. It’s kind of great. The criterion will still always be what’s right for the movie at that given moment, but Thom Yorke is interested; we might, if we’re very lucky, get Kings of Leon to do something… it’s exciting to be able to have access to this kind of talent.”
