Cosio: BeatCrave Fav
By Lindsey Darden
Los Angeles-based band Cosio‘s most recent album is entitled The Cacophonist; however, it would be sincerely difficult to liken their sound to anything other than a euphony – hence why they are today’s BeatCrave Fav. The five-piece band consists of friends, artists, storytellers and musicians; such closeness contributes to a rich and multi-layered ambiance. Sultry vocals peppered with traditional folk instruments weave themes inspired by deep and at times unchartered emotion.
Cosio has an invaluable knack at creating a headspace specific to the one listening, and while even general recognition is the goal for one’s craft, we admire that their desire to make music outweighs that of mass production and quick-and-hurried marketability. Artistically, Cosio is handblown glass in a sea of Tupperware containers; creme brulee hidden in an aisle of Hostess cupcakes. Should you be drawn to them as much as we are, vote for them in Friday’s poll!
