Brand New? The Decemberists? The Pixies? Conor Oberst?  Dr. Dog? Senses Fail?

This might be the best weekend of the summer for tickets, if not the whole year. This is the weekend you’ve been saving up for. Enjoy your cup of noodles for the next few weeks because you money is about to get spent:

-As fans eagerly await the release of their upcoming forth disc “Daisy”, Brand New has announced a fall tour featuring a bevy of opening bands that could easily fill up the venues on their own. The coast to coast tour is set to begin on Oct. 1st in Cleveland, OH and plays medium sized (Live Nation) rooms in both the US and Canada before coming to an end with an homecoming arena show in Uniondale, NY on Oct. 28th with Glassjaw(!). Openers for the month long tour includes repeat Brand New tour mates Manchester Orchestraon the Midwest and west coast,  and Thrice in the southern states, as well as the previously mentioned reunited Glassjaw for the Northeast dates. -Literary rockers The Decemberists have announced a fall tour support of their recent “Hazards of Love” concept album. “A Short Fazed Hazel Tour: Phase Three” will once again see the band performing “Hazards of Love” in its entirety followed by a full set of Decemberists oldies and goodies. The tour begins Sept. 20th in Burlington, VT and hits a variety of college towns in the East, South and Midwest before coming to a close with a date on October 18 as part of the Treasure Island Festival in San Francisco (stay tuned for more West Coast dates). Heartless Bastards, Blind Pilot and Laura Viers & The Hall of Flames open various dates and tickets go on sale starting this weekend. Find all dates here.

-The Pixies have announced their highly-anticipated United States leg of the “Doolittle 20th Anniversary tour” which will see the band performing their classic “Doolittle” album in full with accompanying b-sides and other surprises (Flo-Rida covers, hopefully). The tour begins with in Los Angeles on November 4th and then hits Oakland, Seattle, Eugene, Denver, Chicago, three dates in New York, and Boston before finally finishing on November 30th in Washington D.C. -In what is a indie rock equivalent of those old “Wolfman meets Frankenstein” or “The Mummy meets Dracula” or “Eisenhower meets The Creature from the Black Lagoon” movies, the Monsters of Folk collaboration finds Bright Eye’sConor Oberst, M.Ward of She and Him, Jim Jones of My Morning Jacket and Saddle Creek producer Mike Mogis all sharing the stage (and the CD) as a collaborative folk foursome. The group, whose upcoming self-titled album is due Sept. 22, has announced a new tour which is set to begin October 13th in Vancouver and hits theaters throughout the country before finally coming to an end on November 9thin Philadelphia. -Indie rockers Islands have announced dates for an  US tour in support of their upcoming “Vapours” release due September 22nd. The tour begins Sept. 28th in Tampa, FL and runs until November 5th in New York, New York. Former Be Your Own Pet lead singer, the explosive Jemina Pearl, opens most dates. -Indie rock revivalists Dr. Dog has announced an extensive autumn tour which begins September 18th in Chattanooga, TN and runs until October23rd in Philadelphia, PA. You can find all dates here.
