By Laura AguirreHere comes another segment of Cheap CDs, a place of awesome deals on great music. We all know that music is worth those $10, $15, perhaps even $30-something dollars, but sometimes we don’t have the time to look for great deals online or go to the record store. That’s why I’m here to help you out. Take a look at this week’s finds.
CDs:
Under $10
- The Guess Who – Greatest Hits | $8.99
- Muddy Waters – Folk Singer | $7.97
- Band of Skulls – Baby Darling Face Honey | $8.99
I was listening to the Greatest Hits of The Guess Who, and I realized that I had forgotten just how amazing this band of Canadian boys was. Lester Bangs called them “drunken buffoons,” yet courageous. And I have put Band of Skulls up in the past, but I’m putting them up again because their debut album is truly amazing and they deserve our support.
$10-$15
- Blur – Midlife: A Beginner’s Guide to Blur | $14.99
- Os Mutantes – Everything Is Possible: The Best of Os Mutantes | $14.98
- 500 Days of Summer Soundtrack | $10.00
Are you into 60s Brazilian psychedelic music? If you are and you haven’t heard of Os Mutantes, then you are missing out. I recently discovered them myself, thanks to a friend, and I really liked them. The band trades-off between English and Portuguese. The 500 Days of Summer soundtrack is amazing and you must have it.

Once in a while, an electronica singer comes into your life, to wow it. Santigold did that to mine. She is hip and fresh and her new wave sounds are out of this world.
Which will you buy?
