Adam Yauch Rests At Home After Surgery

Beastie Boys fans and kind-hearted people – you may relax now. Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys is safe at home resting after undergoing a surgery for his cancerous tumor.

Yauch sent his fans a message via e-mail saying that the surgery was over a week and half ago and in actuality, he only spent one night in the hospital. At home, he to go “have home cooked food and hang out with the family.” It’ll be just a few weeks when he’ll start radiation treatment.

He also thanked all his colleagues in the business for all the heart-warming amount of kind words and tributes that happened at both All Points West (Jay-Z had taken over the Beastie Boys slot). Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (who will be peforming in the Beastie Boys spot then) also wore an arm band that said: “Get Well MCA.” Coldplay even tried (keyword: TRIED) to cover “Fight For Your Right” in honor of Yauch. (Why does ANYONE attempt to slow that song down? The message is completely lost in the tempo and melancholic legato tunes.)

He ended his e-mail with:

“I do think that all of the well wishes have contributed to the fact that my treatment and recovery are going well [...] Much love back at all of you!”

Beastie Boys’ latest album is still put on hold and concerts that were booke beforehand are still cancelled. Here’s hoping the guy really does have a great recovery!
