Steven Tyler Hurt From Stage Fall Aerosmiths Steven Tyler Hospitalized From Stage Fall

Aerosmith has made a new notch on their belts in regards to band member injuries. This one seems to be the most dramatic of them all, mostly because it happened right in front of fans.

Aerosmith’s lead vocalist, Steven Tyler, fell backwards off of the stage when he tried to get the crowd going again after the sound system stopped working. The concert was at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Rapid City, South Dakota and the stage was very slippery and wet from the rain.

Tyler fell into a couple of fans but the fall looked pretty rough. Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground (which hosted the outdoor concert) observed and stated that Tyler “Does a lot of dancing on the stage and he does a lot of stuff with his mic stand. He put his stand down and twirled around and stepped backwards off the stage.”

Although Tyler was in good spirits (he was joking with the physician) after the security guards rushed to his side and then had him airlifted off the grounds, it turns out that he received  minor head, neck and shoulder injuries after the fall.

After the frontman was lifted away, guitarist, Joe Perry, came out to inform fans of the abrupt end to the concert.

It seems like Aerosmith have had some bad luck with their injuries lately. This is supposed to be their huge kick off to the summer tour (which will then lead to recording a new album), but almost all of the Bad Boys from Boston suffered a health related problem. Seven shows were already delayed because of a leg injry Tyler had back in June. Bassist Tom Whitford had to sit out for a little bit because of a “non-invasive” surgery, guitarist Brad Whitford had to pull for a few shows because of some head trauma, and Joe Perry had complications with his replacement knee.

Perhaps all the yelping, kicking and jumping could be toned down so the band can remain stable, but that’s why the band is fun to watch. Get well soon, Mr. Tyler! As for the rest of the guys, let’s hope they stay out of trouble.

Come on Dale. Favre is just piling it on thicker and deeper. He said a couple of weeks ago he would join the Vikings if it were only two weeks from the season and Minnesota was closer to Mississippi. He did not want to live in a dorm in Mankato away from his family and I doubt his wife would let him. He wants to buy a condo near Winter Park, live there with his family and commute to work each day. What other job asks you to go live in a dorm somewhere for weeks away from your family? Ok for younger single guys like Percy, but not older married guys, especially if they can’t be trusted to remain celibate.
