Lex Land: BeatCrave Fav
By Brian McConnell
Having recently left California and moved to the even bigger state of Texas, Lex Land is beginning to truly discover herself, her voice. Simultaneously, music fans are beginning to discover Lex Land. Her songs have appeared on “Brothers and Sisters,” “One Tree Hill” and “Private Practice” while Lex herself has graced the tube on Carson Daily and the airwaves on KCRW. While playing the “sounds like” game is never nice (because every artist will tell you they sound like no one but themselves), Lex Land sounds like a mix of Adele and Jewel (the [better] Jewel who was “homeless” in San Diego back in the 20th century, not the uber-rich, ranch-living, country-loving [lamer] Jewel of today).
What’s great about Lex is her unbelievably tender and raw musicality that combines ever so sweetly with her wisely innocent lyrics. It’s the kind of combination that belongs amongst the elite group of artist in our BeatCrave Fav Series. After checking Lex Land out here, be sure to read an interview we were fortunate enough to do with her back in January!
