The Most Unique Cover of Passion Pit’s Sleepyhead?
By Seraphina L.
Hey, all you fellow Passion Pit fanatics! Remember how blown away you were when you first heard Passion Pit’s “Sleepyhead?”
Well, thanks to our friends over at The Music Slut, we’ve discovered this refreshing take on the song. Francsico Yglesia, a world renowned Paraguayan harpist, took the song into his own hands (literally) and churned out this magical rendition. The melody of Mary O’Hara’s “Oro Mo Bhaidin” is beautifully enhanced with the strings and you can still feel the crescendo to the chorus as Yglesia intensely plucks away.
Yet again, we find another revitalizing take on great music! It’s completely different yet intriguing at the same time. Check it out below and let us know what you think!
What did you think of Yglesia’s rendition of “Sleepyhead?”

I didn't know that "Sleepyhead" had sampled anything and now that I know.. I'm actually kind of disappointed in it. I looked "Oro Mo Bhaidin" and was surprised at how much was actually borrowed from that piece. Anyway, Francisco did a beautiful interpretation but I think he might have been interpreting "Oro Mo Bhadin" more than "Sleepyhead" seeing as the original was played primarily with a harp.
