Here’s some interesting induction news, according to Blurt-online the famous Austin City Limits has been hailed as a “historic rock and roll site.” It is an inductee into the famed Rock Hall of Fame, and isn’t it about time?! An official announcement has been sent out spreading the word about the Hall’s latest member, and you can check out some of it’s highlights after the jump.

“Austin City Limits represents one of the most unique archives of modern American music,” said Terry Stewart. “It shares with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the mission of collecting, preserving and interpreting the rock and roll story and educating fans about the cultural significance of this art form.”

The Rock Hall will unveil a historic marker on Thursday, October 1 to celebrate the premiere of the 35th season of Austin City Limits on PBS. As a part of this designation, the Rock Hall and Austin City Limits will host educational panels with artists, members of the media and ACL staff discussing the significance of the groundbreaking music series and its impact on our culture.

Apparently, Austin City Limits is getting a lot of love this year. I’ve never been to Austin or City Limits, but I’ve heard wonderful things about it. I’m sure fans of the site and city are more than thrilled about this year’s induction. It’s not enough to make me travel to Texas, but I’m sure it’s a great place.
