Fresh off last Friday’s big news about the Radiohead song, “These Are My Twisted Words,” which was mysteriously leaked onto the web, now comes word from guitarist Jonny Greenwood that, according to NME, the band are preparing to play new material when they headline the Reading and Leeds Festivals later this month.

Greenwood made the announcement on the band’s Dead Air Space blog at Radiohead.com. He said Radiohead are most likely to give a live debut the new song at the shows.

About that “These Are My Twisted Words” mystery: it’s definitely Radiohead, and it’s now ‘officially’ available to download for free on radiohead.com — click here.

“So here’s a new song, called ‘These Are My Twisted Words’,” Greenwood wrote. “We’ve been recording for a while, and this was one of the first we finished. We’re pretty proud of it. There’s other stuff in various states of completion, but this is one we’ve been practising, and which we’ll probably play at this summer’s concerts. Hope you like it.”

Looks like those Wall Of Ice EP rumors that everyone went mental over last week are on…ice (forgive me) for now. But with Radiohead you just never know. It’s 4 o’clock in the morning and bang! – they release three songs on the ‘net and just like that everyone’s day gets more interesting. It could happen.

So we’re not sure when we’ll see a full batch of new Radiohead tunes, but we do know there will be at least one, new song to look forward to this fall now that Thom Yorke is contributing to the soundtrack of the Twilight sequel New Moon.

The Reading And Leeds Festivals take place on August 28-30.

What do you think about the song “These Are My Twisted Words?”
