They’re naming names for the upcoming CMJ Music Marathon event. Over at Consequence of Sound, they’ve unveiled the first batch of bands that will hit the stage for five days of epic music! Organizers have released a little preview of what fans will be in for at this year’s event, which will include up to 1200 artists! Find out who’s been confirmed below.

Among the many acts expected to perform between October 20th and 24th are Atlas Sound, The Temper Trap, The Very Best, Pissed Jeans, and múm. Crystal Antlers, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Das Racist, Pitbull, Broadcast, Japandroids, The Budos Band, Malajube, Suckers, Screaming Females, Local Natives, Margret Cho, and Zac Brown Band. That’s a mouth full, but there will be more to come.

CMJ Music Marathon Founder and Executive Producer Joanne Abbot Green said:

“CMJ prides itself on musically taking chances by striving to present the most innovative and cutting-edge new music. As has been the case for 29 years, CMJ curates the best in new artists for fans and music business tastemakers to enjoy. As with each festival, we look for ways on how to make the experience more exciting for our attendees from around the world.”

Isn’t that sweet? It still sounds a little corporate, but sweet none the less. Registration for this year’s Marathon is currently ongoing at cmj.com. As of now, Five-day passes are priced at $475 ($285 for students), while VIP passes can be had for $750. If you’ve got that type of money, go for it. I on the other hand do not, so party for me!

Will you be attending the CMJ Marathon?
