Antlers Music Video For Two The Antlers Music Video For Two

The Antlers are known for their melancholic melodies that may be better suited for the end of your day, but there’s no doubt that their songs also make up some of today’s best poetry in the indie world.

Their latest music video is for “Two,” a track off of their album, Hospice. In regards to the somewhat gloomy theme, the reasoning is explained in a statement which frontman, Peter Silberman, gave Stereogum back in June: “One of those [jobs]  involved a lot of time in a hospital. That’s where the record came from. Sometimes we were in a hospital, and often times the hospital followed us home.”

Directed by Ethan Segal and Albert Thrower, the animated video starts off with 2-D versions of the band playing a tragically lonely song by themselves in an apartment. However, as the music swells, floating pockets of color materialize from their instruments trying to fill that sad void in the world. Soon enough, when that doesn’t suffice the Brooklyn-based trio give themselves away into the mission.
