TV On The Radio’s Kyp Malone Set For Solo Tour

This bit of news has ‘sold out in minutes’ written all over it. With a new, solo album titled Rain Machine set for release September 22nd, Kyp Malone of TV On The Radio has confirmed a bunch of shows in North America for his solo project – also known as “Rain Machine.” The tour kicks off  September 21 in Brooklyn and runs through cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Athens before concluding in Philadelphia on October 23rd.

Rain Machine, via Anti- Records, features eleven tracks and was produced by Ian Brennan (Lucinda Williams, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot).

As singer and guitarist for TV on the Radio, Malone proved himself quite the captivating musical force. On Rain Machine, he shows off as a singer and a lyricist. Malone recently described his album as “a nearly full spectrum of frequencies audible to the human ear, a reflection of a variety of emotions and situations real and imagined – some rhythm some rhyme.”

Anti- is calling Malone’s solo project an original blend of “…emotional songs mixing elements of modern jazz, blue-grass and blistering guitar driven rock into a refreshing new sound.”

So we’re expecting something pretty unique and enjoyable.
