Michael Jackson’s MTV VMA Tribute

The most anticipated event at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards was the all-star tribute given to the late Michael Jackson. As previously announced, Jackson’s sister Janet would pay homage to her brother with a song and dance, alongside several of the top choreographers in the business. After Madonna introduced the performance with a heartfelt speech, an onslaught of dancers came out to perform routines from “Thriller,” “Bad,” “Smooth Criminal,” and eventually “Scream”.

I love how they tried to match up Janet with Michael during her solo performance of “Scream.” That’s one of my favorite MJ songs, and we never got to see the siblings perform it live together. Jackson’s backup dancers were filled with celebrity choreographers who were all influenced by Michael’s style, they included Tina Landon, Laurie Ann Gibson, and Chris Judd.

    Not going to lie, but I started crying when Janet was dancing with her brother.

    It was amazing.

    Yeah, that part gave me chills. I also love how intense Laurie Ann is until the very last second, lol.

    boring. ok, it was fine i guess. i was still so annoyed with madonna preaching to me that it spilled over to the janet performance.
