Sondre Lerche may not sound familiar but if you’ve seen the Steve Carell film Dan in Real Life you’ve heard him before. Lerche and his band perform during the wedding scene in the film. The song in question is “Modern Nature,” and showcasing it in the film has opened several doors for the 27-year-old Norwegian artist.

Lerche may be new to the states but not to the music business. He’s already put out five albums in front of his latest release entitled Heartbeat Radio. According to Yahoo, He realizes that he should take advantage of the attention he received from the film and use it as a promotion tool.

“It’s a record I feel very good about. Someone hearing me for the first time will understand, `This is what he does.’ It has elements of all that I’m interested in. I was never the shy, introverted singer-songwriter I was never afraid of entertainment.”

As you can see, he’s open about his craft and wants the world to see what he’s made of. Growing up, he admitted that his idols were hometown musicians a-Ha, as in “Take on Me,” as in one of the most quintessential bands of the eighties. For that alone, I’ll give his music a fair shot.

What do you think of Sondre Lerche? Have you previously heard his music?
