A very, very slow week on the national ticket front. There really wasn’t anything major announced, unless you’re into the Brian Setzer Orchestra singing Christmas tunes (if you are, here you go). It’s probably going to be like this for a few weeks, so along with a few smaller concert tours to tide you over, I’ll also give you links to videos with cute dogs in them. Like this one.

Hahaha… the dog was reacting to watching another dog. That’s the apex of comedy, but on to the tickets…

By the way, those Kanye West/ Lady Gaga tickets I mentioned in last week’s post go on sale this weekend. It seems Live Nation wanted to get some room between Kanye’s outburst and the ticket release date. A week can make a huge difference in the court of public opinion (Kanye can thank Mackenzie Phillips for taking the spotlight off of him). You can find all of the relevant info here.

Julian Plenti

Interpol’s Paul Banks has announced a fall solo tour as his alter-ego Julian Plenti. Not quite sure what that means, but if he’s as energetic at his solo shows as he is on stage with Interpol then, bring your stocking cap and pillow. The tour begins November 14th in San Diego and runs through November 27th in Philadelphia. Tickets are available now and you can find all dates here.

Art Brut

Comedic British rockers Art Brut have announced a fall US tour in support of the recent “Art Brut vs. Satan” release. The band will begin its tour in the college town of Cambridge, MA on October 16th and runs through November 15th with a date in New York City. Tickets are already on sale and you can find all dates here.

Melt Banana

Japanese art-math-metal rockers (descriptions are not my specialty) Melt Banana have announced an extensive fall tour which begins October 29th in Visalia, CA and runs through December 16th in Los Angeles. First go and download the BBC Peel Sessions, featuring Melt Banana and then buy tickets which are available beginning this weekend. You can find a full schedule here.

"A very, very slow week on the national ticket front. There really wasn’t anything major announced, unless YOU'RE (not 'YOUR') into the Brian Setzer Orchestra singing Christmas…"

    God, I'm sick of that.
