DJ AM’s Death an Accidental Overdose

It has been officially ruled that DJ AM‘s sudden death last month was caused by an accidental overdose. AM, born as Adam Goldstein, ingested a lethal cocktail of prescription drugs and cocaine according to the medical examiners office on Tuesday. He had more than enough fatal and toxic drugs in his body to shut down his entire system.

The toxicology report showed the 36 year old had a mixture of Cocaine, OxyCotin, Vicodin, Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Benadryl, and Levamisole in his system at his time of death. The official cause has been labeled as an acute intoxication due to the combined effects of the drugs.

DJ AM, has openly discussed his past addictions to crack cocaine, ecstasy and other drugs. It was those past experiences that led him to film a reality show for MTV entitled Gone Too Far, in which he and concerned families stage interventions for drug abusers. The show was set to debut in October, but MTV has not decided whether they will air the series.

Goldstein was also critically hurt in a plane crash last September with friend and performing partner Travis Barker. Four people were killed, while Goldstein and Barker were badly burned from the incident. He had to get skin graft surgery but resumed playing about a month later making a live appearance with rapper Jay-Z.
