Jay Z Samples Regina Spektor On Crispy Benjamins Jay Z Samples Regina Spektor On Crispy Benjamins

With Jay-Z has recently released The Blueprint 3 and Regina Spektor has recently released Far, it only makes sense that the two are collaborating on a song. Right?

We didn’t think so either and it’s not exactly what it sounds like. According to a recent press release (via Consequence of Sound), Jay-Z has recorded a new song titled “Crispy Benjamins” on September 17th. The track is produced by Mirk of the New Familiar Music Group and also features Regina Spektor’s vocals from her song, “Chemo Limo.”

The release didn’t reveal too many details besides “The record is scheduled for release in late 2009.” We don’t guarantee but highly suspect that this record will be a re-release or deluxe edition of some sort of Jay-Z’s Bluprint 3. Reginaspektor.org also has this hunch because Jay-Z fans were already expecting the special edition during this time frame.

Jay-Z never really retires and Regina is getting ready to score a Broadway musical. We say that this little collaboration is only a small detail in the scheme of things but it’s still pretty cool.

Do you think the two will mesh well together on track?
