Thom Yorke and Band To Do Secret Show On Friday

UPDATE: See end of post!

If you weren’t already thrown into the media frenzy in regards to Thom Yorke’s new band, then you better get with it! There’s more – possibly.

According to LA Weekly, there have been “reliable sources” hinting at a surprise show on Friday, October 2,  at Los Angeles’ beloved Echoplex. Although Yorke has announced October 4 and 5 for official LA dates, this show on Friday may become another part of history.

Since the band is LA-based for now, it seems very possible that this show is actually in the works. There isn’t any word from Echoplex‘s website nor Radiohead’s Dead Air Space, but our hunch is as strong as LA Weekly’s:

“One shred of evidence: the Echoplex schedule is mysteriously empty for this Friday night, and the club almost always has something happening on Friday nights.”

If this show really does happen, it’ll be the first show ever that features Yorke, Flea, Waronker, Refosco, Godrich as a collective.

What do you think? Will there be a show on Friday?

*****UPDATE: A Craiglist ad has just popped up online yesterday for the “show” on Friday. This person has asked for $200:

“I have one tix for Thom Yorke at the ECHO on friday Oct 2nd. This is a special guest list show and extremely difficult to get tix too! Very intimate show! Let me know if interested!!!”

LA Times’ music blog, Pop & Hiss, also just got these coy words from the band’s publicist:

“We cannot confirm nor deny it, but we will confirm or deny it by tomorrow morning.”

If you plan on going, you better enjoy camping out on the lovely streets of Echo Park.
