If you’re still up in the air for what to do Saturday night, perhaps tuning-in to a live performance by Wilco on Garrison Keiler’s A Prairie Home Companion broadcast is an option.

Well, live from Thursday. The band performed this week from the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minn, which is featured on this week’s edition of A Prairie Home Companion. The concert also features country singer Patty Loveless.

This show represents Wilco’s second performance on A Prairie Home Companion; they dropped by the show promoting their album Sky Blue Sky a few years back.

You can listen to that performance here.

Saturday’s show comes three months after the band released its fourth Nonesuch studio release, Wilco (The Album). (That’s a funny album title, but an informal BeatCrave poll revealed it’s a winner with fans.)

Jeff Tweedy and the gang just kicked-off a three-week tour, which includes a set at Farm Aid 2009 in Maryland Heights, Missouri this weekend.

Fans of A Prairie Home Companion will be happy to know that its wonderful host Garrison Keillor is back in action after he was out of commission for almost 3 weeks since suffering a stroke. The 67-year-old host Garrison Keillor suffered a mild stroke on Labor Day and spent four days at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Along with Wilco Saturday night, get set to enjoy the show’s Royal Academy of Radio Actors; Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Tom Keith, the Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band, and The News from Lake Wobegon.

I can’t think of a better match than Wilco and the folksy radio program.

Should be a good time – again.
