Listen To An All-Obama Radio Station

Listen To An All Obama Radio StationThere are some radio stations that make us completely heartbroken, such as the loss of Indie 103.1 and Denver dedicating themselves to stripper hits, and then there are radio stations which can change for the better.

An Athens, Georgia radio station has changed their college radio station to an all Obama, all the time station. If you’ve ever had the fantasy of having Obama politics and some pretty funky tunes all in one place while you’re waiting in traffic on the way to work or finishing your mid-term essay, then 101.1 FM Bulldog has got you covered. (This is a huge tip, Obama girl.)

According to The Daily Swarm,

“Yesterday at 6:00 p.m. 101.1 FM Bulldog radio in Athens, Georgia introduced a new radio format to the public airwaves: All-Obama. The station switched from rock to Obama radio, a mix of Obama’s IPOD, Hawaiian music and clips from the President’s speeches.”

As they give the government a shot Steve Sinicropi (VP at Cox Radio) and others are hoping that their listeners will also ease into the idea as you can hear some great Obama speeches in with a mix of tracks like Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” and Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out.”

So far, the radio station’s receptionist has been taking the heat from angry listeners. The Daily Swarm was also told,

“There’s some mean people out there and they’re not very happy. This is a college town and they want their rock station. I had a guy call who said ‘Where’s my Motley Crue?!’’”

It’s probably better than having your station turn into a program run in a language you don’t understand or hearing Whitesnakes’ “Here I Go Again” over and over again though.

You can take a listen for yourself by going here and tell us your thoughts!
