The Kanye West/Lady Gaga Tour Is Canceled
Oct 01, 2009 - By Jeffrey Hyatt
Even if you absolutely could care less about these two performers, Lord knows it would have been one helluva double-bill.
But alas, Kanye West and Lady Gaga’s Fame Kills tour has been canceled — with no real reason yet given as to why. In a press release sent out by Live Nation, the concert promoter announced Thursday they were pulling the plug on the tour.
The 25-date tour/spectacle was to begin Nov. 10 in Phoenix.
Maybe the aftermath of the VMA debacle still hangs like a dark cloud over Kanye West, yet another obnoxious display, which might have made the tour a harder sell.
Don’t mess with Taylor Swift fans. They might joined up and put the kibosh on the whole thing.
Probably not. And probably not because Kanye West acted like a tool at the VMA’s. That kind of press can only help sell tickets.
The rap star might just need a break from this planet.
Maybe Kanye West and Gaga do their own tour down the road, but whatever visions fans might have had dancing in their heads about what a Kanye/Gaga concert experience would look/feel like will just have to remain a fantasy – a wild and dirty fantasy with lots of funky beats, cool rhymes and bizarre wardrobe choices, but a fantasy nevertheless.
Refunds are available at point of purchase; tickets bought online and via phone will be refunded automatically, Live Nation says.
