Lady Gaga to Tour Without Kanye West
By Laura Aguirre
The show must go on, with or without you Kanye West — that’s the latest on the cancellation of the Fame Kills tour. We previously reported that the collaboration between pop artist Lady Gaga and West was no more, and now one half of the duo is speaking out about the decision.
According to the Associated Press, pop star Lady Gaga will be hitting the stage alone. Here’s what she said in an interview at the annual Billboard Women in Music event Friday:
“We mutually decided to cancel the tour. He’s going to take sometime off, but I’m not.”
She’s not the one who publicly offended Taylor Swift in front of the entire country, why should she have to put her career on pause for West? Well, the good news is she isn’t.
Fame Kills was set to begin November 10th in Phoenix, with both West and Gaga as headliners. According to Gaga, they both spoke with Live Nation about the cancellation before the concert promoters announced it Thursday with no explanation, but we have a few good guesses as to why Fame Kills has died.
According to ABC news, Gaga’s longtime choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson said the tour was cancelled over “creative differences,” but our money is on the whole “Taylor Swift” scandal.
There were rumors that the rapper wanted to take some time off due to the whole incident, and I suppose this was his cue. Everyone makes mistakes, and I suggest we throw the previous outburst out the window and recognize him for what he is — an amazing lyricist/rapper/artist who unlike most rappers today, is actually redefining hip hop.
