BeatCrave Fav: Those Dancing Days

Every time someone mentions The Spice Girls to me, a bunch of middle-school memories come swarming into my head of how obsessed everyone around me (myself included) was with that adorable English fivesome. Today the rage is coming from Sweden in a pop all-girl band called Those Dancing Days. Like the Spice Girls of the 90s, the five girls from Those Dancing Days are an adorable and young bunch with an infectious and energetic sound. All the way from the suburbs of Stockholm, this Hammond organ infused group is front and center with the whole “Northern Soul” music that has been presented to us most recently.

Lead by the glamorous Linnea Jonsson, Those Dancing Days write and perform their own material. In 2008, they released their first album In Our Space Hero Suits, which made it onto the UK charts that year. Before you put Those Dancing Days away in your “another Swedish indie pop band” bank, give them a listen, you might be very surprised.
