New Moon Soundtrack Release Date Moved Up
By Seraphina L.
For those of you who haven’t heard about the New Moon soundtrack leaking after the 30 snippet previews went up, it turns out that you haven’t missed too much.
Billboard has just announced that the soundtrack’s release date has been moved up four days from October 20 to this Friday, October 16.
Not only is this album highly anticipated by Twilight fans but it is particularly gaining attention from music critics for its drastic change from mainstream to indie rock. We don’t blame them; we’ve been doing the same thing and from what we’ve heard via both previews and leaks, the shift has been for the better.
For those who have already listened to the album but still want to support the Twilight franchise along with the impressive indie roster, the release date might make you feel a little more at ease when you can purchase the entire package legally this weekend.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, the first soundtrack – which was sans leak – sold 2.2 million copies.
Do you think this one will do as well with all the hype as a potential threat?
