Pavement Announce Australian Tour Dates

Pavement is everywhere with this reunion. In the blogosphere or around the world, it doesn’t matter. We couldn’t be happier.
After announcing their Summerstage dates for NYC and Pavement weekend at All Tomorrow’s Parties 2010, they’ve decided to please their fans down under: According to Triple J, Pavement have added six more scheduled dates which commence on March 4, 2010 in Sydney.
If you’re beginning to wonder when they’re going to come to your area, there is also word that these Australian dates may be the kick off for a tour throughout Europe and the States as well. The best part about this rumor is that it may be a lengthy tour schedule… We’re personally hoping LA is included in those yet to be announced dates!
As we previously mentioned, there is already talk of them headlining Coachella. This is like someone pouring gasoline into the fire and to keep our sanity, we’re thinking that it just has to be in the works already.
If you’re on the same delirious page as us, you might also wonder what they will be playing at all these dates. Band member, Bob Nastanovich, took care of that and gave us an idea of what to expect in his recent interview with The Quietus. In a nutshell, there will be no new material and they’re probably not going to be playing anything from the back catalog like “Recorder Grot Rally” (from Demolition Plot J-7). Nastanovich’s picks, however, would be: “Stop Breathing,” “Type Slowly,” and “Transport Is Arranged.”
So, kids. Let’s add up the dates we have for now.
