Kanye West Is Not Dead: Just Another Celebrity Hoax
By Seraphina L.
Yesterday was a whirlwind of media frenzy when Twitter was bombarded with tweets on Kanye West‘s death.
According to Billboard, social media platforms were mislead by a fraudulent website that claimed a headline announcing: “a bizarre car crash in Los Angeles.” The prank was apparently set up within a Fox News web page (another reason why no one should watch Fox News), and the hoax led to rumors of West’s departure from this world.
Obviously, Kanye West has not left this world. With that ego, you just know that if he WERE to be gone – he’d already have something spectacularly grand planned ahead. His girlfriend, Amber Rose, noticed the tweets and vehemently made sure this hoax fell through with her own updates such as “This ‘RIP Kanye West’ topic is not funny and it’s NOT TRUE!” and “He has people like myself and his family that love him very much…”
Her defense included the fact that everyone makes mistakes highlighting the Taylor-Swift MTV incident. Since West’s tour with Lady Gaga was canceled and he went off to India to do a little soul searching, gossip was just waiting to jump on an assumption.
His latest video, “We Were Once A Fairytale” which was in collaboration with Where The Wild Things Are‘s Spike Jonze was that chance. The video set to his track, “See You In My Nightmare” featured very grotesque, morbid and suicidal themes and this alone sped the process along.
That’s just creativity, people. Not everything is a sign.
