Concert Tickets with Weezer and Anti-Flag

Weezer- BS- Oct. 23

I start this week’s Concert Ticket’s piece with some bad news: guitarist Ian McDougall of The Riverboat Gamblers, the best live band in America, was involved in a very serious accident last weekend when he got hit by a car while biking home from work. He suffered a broken hip and wrist, hemorrhaging under the skull, multiple lacerations, torn ligaments, bruises and scrapes. Bad stuff. The band are workhorses and unfortunately because they aren’t on a major label they don’t have medical insurance. If you’ve ever had the pleasure to see the Gamblers you know how amazing they are on stage and how cool they are off of it. Please give a few dollars to help with Ian’s mountain off medical bills thru this pay pal account.

With that out of the way, there are a few things to look at this weekend on the on sale front. Those Lady Gaga tickets I talked about last week go on sale this weekend. Also, if you’re into Bon Jovi or Taylor Swift they both announced big tours yesterday. Tickets go on sale for both of those next weekend. Oh, and your into Chris Brown, he’s touring this winter tour. I’m sure that will go over well. Anyway, here are a few things to get you going:

Weezer

This is the golden age of indie-rock artists almost getting to make out with hot girls in music videos. First the eel’s E gets to kiss Padma Lakshmi in the bands new “That Look You Give That Guy” video (though in reality it’s just his dog… long story, watch the video). And now, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo get’s oh so close to kissing “Cloverfield” hottie Odette Yustman in the new “I Want You To” video. Must be good to control your own video content.

While the eels are busy on a new album, Weezer has announced a brief fall tour in support of their upcoming “Raditude” record. Following sold out dates in Los Angeles on Oct. 24th and New York on Halloween the band will start its tour on Dec. 1st in Chicago and through Dec. 10th in Philadelphia. Motion City Soundtrack and Jack’s Mannequin are on board for the December dates. You can find your local show here.

Anti-Flag/ Aiden/ The Cancer Bats

Political punks Anti-Flag has announced the dates to their winter “The Economy Sucks, Let’s Party Tour”. The three week tour begins Jan. 12th in Detroit, MI and hits both coasts before finishing Feb. 6th in Pittsburgh, PA. Opening the party is Seattle’s Aiden, Canada’s Cancer Bats and Detroit’s Fireworks. Tickets go on sale this weekend and you can find all dates here.
