Poll Should Hall and Oates Be Inducted Into 2010s Hall of Fame Poll: Should Hall and Oates Be Inducted Into 2010s Hall of Fame?

Who doesn’t love Hall and Oates? There has yet to be a duo who has had as much influence on “rock and soul.” Their back beat in “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” was somewhat an inspiration for Michael Jackson‘s “Beat It” and who didn’t enjoy Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s musical number set to “You Make My Dreams” in (500) Days of Summer?

Yet, with decades of hit singles the duo has not once been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Perhaps this has gone by unnoticed, and perhaps it hasn’t. However, talk-show host Rachael Ray is letting everyone know what she thinks! Apparently, the foodie is a huge Hall and Oates fan and also livid about the duo being snubbed in regards to the class of 2010.

She’s so upset that she has started to campaign her feelings through a petition. According to Rolling Stone, the Philadelphia duo appeared on her show but it will not appear on television until November 6th. Since then, she has encouraged her fans through her blog to sign a petition in order to get as many votes for Hall and Oates as possible! Surprisingly, the blog has gotten enough attention that votes have gone up to a total of 465 votes.

Who doesn’t like catchy tunes like “Maneater,” Private Eyes,” or “Out of Touch?” I know I love them, but will anything I do as an individual get them into 2010′s class in the Hall of Fame?

What do you think?

Daryl and John should have been inducted a long time ago –way overdue!

Here's the deal with H&O. While some of their 80s material was great, it's their 70s material that is even better and has much more credibility with the pompous RRHOF panel. Yes, it may not have been as popular (save a few songs), but with their mastering of rock, folk and R&B/Philly in that decade, it shows they were – and still are – true musicians…musicians' musicians. They will be inducted…and hopefully that same year, Todd Rundgren – rock's lost genius and one of the best popular songwriters of all time – will be inducted as well. They should go in together.

I have listened to Hall & Oates since the late 70's . I still listen to them often. I have become a big fan of their recent stuff. I buy everything they put out. If you see this guys, I love you and your music. Thanks for all the music you have brightened my world with!! "Live at Daryl's House" is very entertaining also. Love it. So, do I think they should go into the Hall of Fame? My question is: Why are they already not in there?
