Are you ready for some old school record action? This weekend marks the annual WFMU Record Fair in NYC. To celebrate, Warner Bros. Records is bringing vinyl to the people by hosting a booth you’ve got to check out.

Warner Bros. Records General Manager Tom Biery calls himself a vinyl freak and admits that there is not better place than the WFMU show to sell music directly to fans.

“I have been going to the show for years and have always thought that having a WBR/Reprise booth to sell our records would be a ton of fun as well as a great learning experience.”

Reprise Records is releasing singer-songwriter Neil Young‘s first four catalog reissues of Neil Young, Everyone Knows This is Nowhere, After the Gold Rush, and Harvest on Vinyl, including a direct-to-fan 180-gram Limited Edition box set.

The Flaming LipsEmbryonic collector’s edition will also be released on vinyl by Warner Bros. Records, as well as a three-disc version of REM‘s Live At the Olympia in Dublin/39 songs.

Other artists on vinyl include, but are not limited to are Devo, The Marvellos, The Soul Shakers and Carl Thomas. If you can’t make it to NYC this weekend, you can still purchase these titles at www.beacausesoundmatters.com; and it’s true, sound really does matter when it comes to legendary artists like Neil Young, The Flaming Lips, and REM.

WFMU Record Fair will be held from Oct. 23 to 25 at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
