Jarvis Cocker Hints At Pulp Reunion For Glastonbury
By Jeffrey Hyatt
Don’t tease us, Jarvis Cocker. According to NME, the singer mentioned that Pulp are “coming back” and that they might be game to perform at Glastonbury 2010.
Pulp has been on the shelf since the release of their 2001 album We Love Life, so news that the band might reform – and possibly play at next June’s big event – is definitely causing a stir among longtime fans of the Brit-pop legends.
“Glastonbury means an awful lot to me, I would love to play there again,” Cocker said. “We’ve talked about it, there we go, there’ll be a band reunion.”
Oh, you wonderfully dressed alt.-rocker. Don’t lead us down this road of joy if you don’t plan on really getting the gang back together.
The bespectacled Cocker has released two solo albums since Pulp called it a day (Jarvis in 2006 and Further Complications in 2009). Pulp, straight outta Sheffield, last headlined the Glastonbury Festival in 1995.
There are already plenty of rumors floating around out there about possible acts for Glastonbury 2010 (Robert Plant, Radiohead), but the Pulp deal really looks to be coming together – if you believe Cocker.
We want to believe, Jarvis. We want to believe!
Glastonbury Festival 2010 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from 23-27 June.
