The Dead Weather Release Live EP
By Jeffrey Hyatt
The Dead Weather have been so kind as to release a new, live five-song EP, titled Live From Third Man West.
Released via iTunes, the live EP is named after Jack White’s recording studio in L.A. where the music was recorded; the EP features tracks from the group’s debut, Horehound. All told, the album includes four live videos and five songs, including a cover of the heavy metal band Pentagram’s “Forever My Queen.”
Right now Jack White and his Dead Weather cohorts are working on album #2, so the live EP is a nice treat for fans. It is also further proof that Jack White cannot be stopped. He is going to release new music whenever and wherever he wants.
And following BeatCrave’s ongoing coverage of Jack White’s Very Busy 2009, White’s record label, Third Man Records, is going to open a shop in London – for just two days. Third Man Records has announced that it will launch its first-ever British “pop-up store” in east London’s Shoreditch Church Friday (Oct. 30) and Saturday (Oct. 31).
Third Man Records has already created temporary stores in New York and Los Angeles; they move in to some random location, paint the whole place black, yellow and white and then open for business. The stores sell Third Man albums releases, memorabilia from all of White’s many bands he’s currently in and rare items.
On Monday, The Dead Weather released “I Cut Like a Buffalo,” the third single from the band.

I thought (and am pretty sure) that Jack White's recording studio was in Nashville at his permanent Third Man Records site, not L.A.
