Concert Tickets with U2, Them Crooked Vultures
By Brian Spiegel
Is it just me or is Halloween kind of lame this year? Where is the fun? Where are all the decorations? Is it the economy? Or maybe we’ve just lost the spirit. Or maybe, and follow me on this, all those H1N1 shots are really just a way to inoculate people against the fun of Halloween. I’m sure Lyndon LaRoche has a brochure on it…
Anyway, the ghouls and goblins who haunt the night this weekend have a few things to check out on their Live Nation/ Ticketmaster accounts. There are some smaller shows going on sale on their Ticketweb accounts, but c’mon, we all know the living dead wouldn’t be caught on Ticketweb. That would just be stupid. Here we go:
Last weekend’s U2 show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena was one of the most spectacular musical achievements I’ve ever seen. I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and I’ve never seen a band own a venue like they did that one. And making 96,000 people feel like they were at an intimate club show, jesus. I know I’ll get smashed for this but U2 is not only the best band in the world but they may have reinvented touring with the 360 Tour. Sell your children to see the tour, and if you don’t have children then sell one of your beloved pets or goldfish.
- I bring this up because if you missed U2 the first time around they have announced the US dates for their 2010 360 tour (say that five times fast). The new tour is set to begin on June 6 (within walking distance of my place) at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA. (note: should be interesting to see how the tour plays a smaller baseball stadium). The band will then go on to play Denver, Oakland, Seattle, Edmonton, East Lansing, MI., Toronto, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Montreal before finishing up in New York on July 19th at the New Meadowlands Stadium. More dates should be added and tickets begin to (slowly) go on sale starting Monday. Find local dates and onsale info here.
- If your on the west coast you can take advantage of a handful of dates just announced for the Dave Grohl/ John Paul Jones/ Josh Hommes supergroup, Them Crooked Vultures. The week long November jaunt plays LA on November 17th, Oakland on the 19th, Seattle on the 21st, and Portland on the 22nd. Tickets go on sale this weekend and find on sale dates here.
Happy Halloween!
