Phish Festival 8 Kicks Off This Halloween Weekend!
By Seraphina L.
The famous Phish Halloween extravaganza starts tonight on the grounds of Coachella! If you’re a hardcore Phish fan, you’re probably already there!
However, if you are missing it and not already passed out when the festivities actually start, we have good news! According to Examiner.com, you can stream the entire event through Sirus/XM! We’ve also got a few other details for you after the jump!
No one actually knows what album Phish will be covering in its entirety yet. For Festival 8, they will honor their tradition where they all dress up in costumes and play another artists’ album from beginning track to ending track. They also go unplugged this year.
No one actually knows what album they’ve chosen for this year either. In the past they’ve covered Beatles’ White Album in its entirety, Tthe Who’s Quadrophenia, the Velvet Underground’s Loaded, and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.
Our friends over at Consequence of Sound have a few hunches that it might be one of the following: MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular (just based on last night’s sound check), Radiohead’s Kid A, Prince’s Purple Rain, Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland, and David Bowie’s Hunky Dory.
Phish’s website will be a place to keep an eye on if you’re not attending and you really want to find out.
Happy Halloween to Phish fans and everyone else!
