Weezer Teams Up With Gossip Girl and Adam Lambert

Lady Gaga and Kanye West may be up for the craziest person of 2009 in regards to the music biz, but we think Weezer‘s Rivers Cuomo may be next in line. He and his band just don’t get tired of throwing us random news, and we’re not sure if we’re sad about the loss of Weezer’s novelty anymore either because we can’t lie: All this new information is kind of interesting no matter how bizarre.
Covering Lady Gaga, using a flying dog photo for their album Raditude, creating their own Wuggie, working with Katy Perry, and dressing up in bug costumes seems like just the beginning of WTF moments. There’s more!
As you can see, Weezer may also be a fan of one of the Gossip Girls: Actress, Leighton Meester, who is also set out to release her own pop-dance album soon. According to NME, Meester joined Weezer on stage for their single, “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To” (we still can’t get over that title!), as they celebrated Halloween and there is a decent YouTube video of it to watch below.
However, we also found out about another collaboration. Weezer has apparently worked with Adam Lambert. It wasn’t enough for the American Idol singer to grab Muse or The Darkness, but he will also be debuting a song written by Cuomo on the album as well.
MJ’s Big Blog (via P4k) reports that its title is “Pick U Up,” and Rolling Stone also reports that Lambert has already recorded the song. If that weren’t enough confirmation, Cuomo had also twittered about it saying, “This is an amazing song and Adam sang it great. Weezer fans will love.” Still not enough? Amazon even has the song included in For Your Entertainment‘s track listing.
So many collaborations, so little time to shock people…

Dang I just can't wait till Nov 23rd for Adam's album!!! It is going to be fierce!!! Amazing how many people want to collaborate with him!!! The guy has pipes from the gods there is no doubt about it. The single is fantastic and such a statement about Adam as an artist!! Great stuff to come and so far it has been a blast. Adam will surprise us – always!!

Here is a direct quote from Weezer on Adam Lambert "I was invited to sit in with Adam Lambert and watch him sing, and he was checking out the song. And as it turns out, he came up with a few ideas for it for himself, changed the melody around, suggested some lyric changes and before you knew it, I was writing a song with Adam Lambert." Weezer also shared that Adam's voice is amazing!!
