Pavement To Release A Best Of Album Pavement To Release A Best Of Album?

Although indie rock legends, Pavement, has told everyone not to expect any new material from them despite their massive reunion tour schedule for 2010, there IS hope for a “Best Of” compilation to come our way.

Guitarist, Scott Kannberg, recently talked to NME about future Pavement releases and is considering throwing something together so our favorite record stores can have something shiny and brand new for the shelves.

If this were to really happen he’s assuming it’ll likely be full of the best known Pavement songs along with some outtakes as well as some other recordings of those songs no one has even had the chance to bootleg yet.

“There’s talk of doing a best-of, with some really cool outtakes on that. The very first radio show that Pavement ever did has never been released. I don’t think anyone’s heard it, so we’ll put that out there sometime.”

“Cut Your Hair” will most likely make that list since it was their most successful song commercial-wise. However, “Summer Babe” would be a nice track to have on there as well.

Pavement will be starting out in NYC for the Summerstage event and go through Australia and New Zealand before hitting up ATP Festival in the UK.
