Magnetic Fields’ Artwork and Tracklist for New Album
By Kara
The Magnetic Fields‘ are coming out with a new album! The day is almost here, and they have recently released the tracklist and the album cover for the album titled, Realism, due out on January 26. Their last album, Distortion, was released in 2008. It sounds like this new album should be somewhat of an extension off of Stephin Merritt and Co.’s last effort.
That’s a pretty vanilla album cover if you ask me. Obviously the album cover doesn’t dictate the type of music that will be held within, but you certainly won’t be drawing a crowd with this one. It might help to punch it up a little bit. Have you ever played the game in a record store where you simply pick an album because of the cover? Yeah, this one wouldn’t be coming home with me. The Magnetic Fields are a pretty good band, and they have interesting songs, so I will be curious to hear this new album.
Check out the tracklist below…
- You Must Be Out of Your Mind
- Interlude
- We Are Having a Hootenanny
- I Don’t Know What to Say
- The Dolls’ Tea Party
- Everything Is One Big Christmas Tree
- Walk a Lonely Road
- Always Already Gone
- Seduced and Abandoned
- Better Things
- Painted Flower
- The Dada Polka
- From a Sinking Boat
Are you looking forward to their new album?
