Last night the world of country music took over television with the broadcast of the 43rd Annual Country Music Awards. It was an evening of stars, surprises, and multiple wins for Taylor Swift. The ceremony was hosted by singer’s Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood who capped off the evening when a certain someone earned a history making honor.

• Entertainer of the Year: Taylor Swift

• Single: “I Run to You,” Lady Antebellum

• Album: “Fearless,” Taylor Swift

• Song: “In Color,” Jamey Johnson, Lee Thomas Miller, James Otto

• Female Vocalist: Taylor Swift

• Male Vocalist: Brad Paisley

• Vocal Group: Lady Antebellum

• Vocal Duo: Sugarland

• Musical Event: “Start a Band,” Brad Paisley (duet with Keith Urban)

• Musician: Mac McAnally

• Music Video: “Love Story,” Taylor Swift

• New Artist: Darius Rucker

Taylor Swift became the youngest artist ever to win the coveted Entertainer of the Year award last night. At the age of 19, she was up against 4 heavy hitters in the country genre, including Kenny Chesney who had took home the award three years in a row prior. Congrats!

    Sorry Kids – the county music awards is turning into a joke. There is no way on god's green earth that Taylor Swift deserves Entertainer, Female Vocalist, etc. #1 she couldn't sing if her life depended on it, all she does is talk and shout to music. It's a disgrace!! The awards are getting worse and worse about promoting no or very little talent. There are people who are 10 times better than Taylor Swift (Meranda Lambert, Kelly Pickler, etc.) and don't even get any recognition. Miley Cyrus dosen't even get recognized and she's more country that Taylor Swift could every dream of being. I don't think I know of anyone who thinks she can sing. Not sure what is going on. The whole thing makes me sick. Its turned into a popularity contest. Look at what these people did to Faith Hill. It's Sick!!

    Get over your it…did you try to make it in country music and fail out?…taylor swift is an impresssive song writer, sing, musician and performer in general…she deserved what she won

    The fact that you mentioned 'country' and 'Miley Cyrus' in the same sentence makes me want to puke. And you spelled MIRANDA Lambert's name wrong. Good job…you clearly know a lot about country music.

    the so called "country music" of now is not country it is a light rock beat, there is no true country music out there anymore. The days of the greats, Cash, Jennings, Williams, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, etc… are gone, Country music now is a retarded (slow) form of rock that is disgraceful to what country music was and should be, all the greats would be turning in their grave. I cannot tolerate "retarded rock" Country music anymore, but I still follow the deep roots of where it came from, I am only 28 and of the new breed of music listening and I dont appreciate "country" of now ever.

    i actually do like taylor swift. I just dont feel like she had the accomplishments that the others had for entertainer of the year. I feel that she deserved most of the awards, just not that one. the others had a great year, better then her in my opinion.

    im a taylor swift fan like a huge one but i agree she cannot sing. songwriting is the only reason she made it where she is at. she did deserve some of her awards but not entertainer of the year. i believe carrie underwood derves it. carrie is AMAZING. it was a popularity contest when it came to taylor she got to sing twice the kanye ordeal was brought up many times and she won every award she could possibly be nominated for almost. GO CARRIE

    Taylor Swift is a great entertainer…actress..a decent songwriter, but a VOCALIST SHE IS NOT!!! Hope she writes some new songs, I am tired of hearing about her boyfriends. Oh and maybe take a few vocal lessons and try some more challenging vocals. Let's see where she is a year from now. An entertainer and a singer is 2 different things.
