James Taylor, Carole King To Do Troubadour Tour
By Seraphina L.
James Taylor and Carole King have always been presented in a nice and soft light. It’s probably because both of them have been staples for those classic Top 40 songs no one is ashamed to enjoy. (“Fire and Rain” and “I Feel The Earth Move” anyone?) Recent factors that highlight their good nature include Taylor and his wife donating thousands of dollars to a music charity and King starring as a quirky record shop owner in Gilmore Girls. (Okay, the latter was years ago but that was awesome and the show highlighted a ton of indie music acts!)
Now, the two are reuniting. It’ll be the first time they will play together on a tour since 1970 when they started at at Los Angeles’ Troubadour. Hence, their joint tour is titled “The Troubadour Reunion.”
If Taylor and King didn’t have a special bond together after all these years, music fans definitely have a sentimental soft spot for them. Just one year later after their Troubadour show in 1970, Taylor had his first #1 hit with a cover of King’s “You’ve Got A Friend.”
According to the Associated Press, the two reunited when they celebrated the Troubadour’s 50th anniversary together two years ago. They had so much fun they decided to make a tour out of it.
They’ve announced seven dates so far which start during 2010 in Australia and come around to Los Angeles in May. However, they also say more will be coming!
