Concert Tickets: U2, Dashboard Confessional and More

Geez, Mae, Kill Hannah, Moneen and Anberlin all got equipment and/or vans stolen this week. That is seriously fucked up, stealing from a band on the road. Not only are most bands broke, but they spend years saving up to buy their equipment. I say if they find these people they better punish them old school style by drawing and quartering them and sending one limb to each corner of the country as a warning (the head can be put on a pike and shipped to the London Bridge for effect).
While that probably won’t happen (damn lack of medieval punishment… thanks a lot Barack Obama), if you have a few extra bucks you can donate some cash to the bands via pay pal to get them back on their feet.
Anyway, a few new tours to wet your whistle. Take out your credit cards and check these out:
U2
U2 have announced a handful of new U.S. dates for their 2010 360 Tour run. The new shows announced are for Anaheim, CA on June 7th, Philadelphia on July 12th and Seattle on June 20th. Tickets for the Philly show go on sale today while Seattle goes on sale on the 16th and Anaheim on the 20th. You can find some more information here, and remember: this is U2 and they will sell out fast.
Where’s The Band Tour
Where’s the Band?, an acoustic venture featuring, you guessed it, solo performances by Dustin Kensue of Thrice, Matt Pryor of the Get Up Kids, Chris Conley on Saves The Day and Anthony Raneri of Bayside, have announced dates for a brief West Coast tour next January. The tour will play West Hollywood, CA on January 7th, San Diego on the 8th, Anaheim on the 9th and San Francisco on the 10th. Tickets are on sale now and you can get more info here.
Dashboard Confessional/ New Found Glory Acoustic Tour
After canceling their co-headlining tour due to a family emergency, Dashboard Confessional and New Found Glory have instead announced a short acoustic tour starting later this month. The club tour (which will feature both artists playing full length acoustic sets), will play dates beginning November 30th in Los Angeles and running through December 15th in Orlando, FL. You can find all dates here. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday so if you can find them they’re on sale now. If not, and your chances of seeing Dashboard has melted, well, at least you still have the radio… Sorry, Modest Mouse humor…
