Dan Deacon Hospitalized For Back Problems, Shows Cancelled
Famed for his live shows, Dan Deacon is a musician who doesn’t play onstage, but in the audience. While this might be a unique way of getting people pumped, it does seem like a dangerous way to go about it. If you’ve ever been a part of the electronic crowd then you know that they aren’t the most careful bunch. Fingers get bent, toes get stepped on, and in the case of Deacon, back problems occur.
According to Pitchfork, Deacon has been hospitalized with acute sciatica, and has been forced to cancel come shows.
There’s no word on what caused his back problems, but surely being a part of dance electronic party every night isn’t helpful.
Deacon’s label, The Carpark Records tweeted:
“dan deacon is having some serious health issues with his back and has to cancel the remaining dates of his north american tour.”
A post on Facebook confirms that a show Deacon was suppose to play tomorrow night at Clark University has been moved to January. Hopefully the energetic musician will be well by then.
Below is the list of cancelled shows:
- 11-13 Troy, NY – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
- 11-14 Worcester, MA – Clark University
- 11-15 Ithaca, NY – Ithaca College
- 11-16 Purchase, NY – SUNY Purchase
- 11-18 Baltimore, MD – The Ottobar
Have you ever been to one of Deacon’s concert? If so, how does this make you feel?
